P.E.K.K.A. is one of the most iconic cards in Clash Royale, and luckily it’s also one of the stronger ones. As a massive, hard-hitting troop, P.E.K.K.A. will always have a spot somewhere in the meta. In this article I’ll go through three great decks featuring P.E.K.K.A., but first let’s check out what it does in general as well as its evolution.
How to Play P.E.K.K.A. + P.E.K.K.A. Evolution
Playing P.E.K.K.A. is simple. Since it’s a tank, you have to play around its slow movement and hit speed. P.E.K.K.A. is obviously week to swarms and any flying troops, so supporting it is a must. Support troops like Baby Dragon, Wizard, and Magic Archer are all really strong alongside P.E.K.K.A. because of this. Between good support troops and a handful of spells, pushing P.E.K.K.A. to enemy towers is a really efficient strategy that tends to lead to big victories.
Interestingly enough, however, the P.E.K.K.A. evolution is not all that necessary. While it is good since it gives the ability to heal some HP after getting kills, it just isn’t impactful enough compared to other evolutions. The biggest strategic difference is that it allows P.E.K.K.A. to survive against ground swarms that would usually kill it since it keeps healing after each kill. However, flying troops are still just as strong, and in my opinion this evolution is by far one of the weakest. If you have it you certainly can use it, but I think using normal P.E.K.K.A. with two strong evolutions to help it is the best strategy.
P.E.K.K.A. + Battle Ram & Royal Ghost Evo

Cards:
- Battle Ram (Evo)
- Royal Ghost (Evo)
- P.E.K.K.A.
- Magic Archer
- Fireball
- Electro Wizard
- Bandit
- Zap
Based on how popular this deck is right now, it felt only right to put it first. Since P.E.K.K.A. is so strong at defending thanks to his super high DPS, you can focus more on offense with the rest of many P.E.K.K.A. decks. Battle Ram and Royal Ghost are very strong for a handful of reasons, but mostly because of how much damage both do. Battle Ram focuses mostly on towers, with the evolved version doing more DPS thanks to its ability to continue ramming after the first hit. Royal Ghost is more on the defensive side, but its offensive potential is often underrated.
Outside of P.E.K.K.A. and the evolutions, we have some really great support here. Magic Archer is strong because it has such long range and can take out large groups at once, while Electro Wizard is better for dealing with individual troops and counters for P.E.K.K.A. like the Inferno Dragon/Tower. Fireball is also a great spell to use with decks like this since it’s so versatile. Then we have Bandit, which is more offensive but can handle some defense if needed.
I think playing aggressively works best here, but you don’t have to be extremely aggressive for it to work. The deck can handle just about everything, so you can play it however you want. You can play more passively when waiting for evolution cards, but most of the time it’s best to go all in here.
P.E.K.K.A. + Skeleton Army & Dart Goblin Evo

Cards:
- Skeleton Army (Evo)
- Dart Goblin (Evo)
- Golden Knight (Hero)
- P.E.K.K.A.
- Royal Delivery
- Minions
- Skeletons
- Barbarian Barrel
One card that works really well with P.E.K.K.A is Golden Knight. Golden Knight’s champion ability allows him to charge forward and attack everything ahead of him, which works great for helping P.E.K.K.A. Whenever you play it, opponents will almost always reply with either a swarm or flying troops. Golden Knight can’t do much about flying troops, but what it can deal with is anything on the ground. Then thanks to the two evolutions of Skeleton Army and Dart Goblin, we really don’t have anything else to worry about either. These four cards can deal with everything from flying troops to the toughest tanks, so they’re all a breeze.
This deck’s biggest strength is that it is very versatile. The other cards in this deck follow this theme in that none of them are overly specific in what they can do, but they all have clear roles. Royal Delivery can take out low-HP flying and ground troops, Minions is a great cheap flyer, Skeletons can distract troops for only 1 elixir, and Barb Barrel is just always strong for clearing troops. From the evolutions to threats, everything here works towards the “all-rounder” goal.
Due to this balanced deck type, I think this deck ends up being very reactive. You can’t just randomly play cards like Golden Knight and Royal Delivery if you want to accomplish anything with them. A lot of the times, the best play is just to wait until your opponent makes a move. Then with how many answers this deck has, we’ll almost always be able to make something beneficial happen.
P.E.K.K.A. + Wall Breakers & Hero Wizard

Cards:
- Wall Breakers (Evo)
- Zap (Evo)
- Wizard (Hero)
- P.E.K.K.A.
- Electro Wizard
- Bats
- Spear Goblins
- Vines
With one deck left to go, I felt I had to include one with the new Wizard hero card. The hero version of Wizard allows him to briefly fly up into the air and launch fireballs for just 1 extra elixir. This increases his damage output, so it’s not a bad bonus at all. Both of the evolutions for this deck are cheap to counter the higher cost of the P.E.K.K.A. + Wizard combo. Evolved Wall Breakers are possibly the best win con in the game since they do such high damage for only 2 elixir, and Zap’s evo is great for making sure you’re able to deal with low-HP threats any time.
In general, this deck really is all about playing and supporting P.E.K.K.A. Electro Wizard is one of the best support cards for it since it deals with Inferno cards, and Spear Goblins work well since they target flying troops and do more damage than they get credit for. I also really like Vines since it can slow down opponents’ troops and help deal with flying troops when needed. It isn’t quite as good as when it came out anymore, but that’s for the best anyway, plus it still feels strong to use.
For this deck, since it features Wall Breakers, I’d recommend being mostly aggressive. That being said, with high-elixir troops you do have to be patient sometimes. Don’t use P.E.K.K.A. if you can’t afford to, and don’t think you always have to have Wizard ready to support it. It’s for the best if you do, but you can also use Electro Wizard for the same purpose.
